Established in 2008, the Parents Council helps enhance communication between families and the university while providing a support network for students during their time at UTMB.
Purpose1. Assist in improving communications between parents and the university2. Plan and support Welcome Weekend, the Holiday BINGO party and Party on the Plaza3. Engage and provide support to fellow UTMB parents4. Promote networking between UTMB and alumni5. Endorse UTMB projects6. Endorse annual UTMB appeals that support student-based programs
Membership Committee: has the responsibility for recruitment and member services for the council.
Communications Committee: provides information through various media about the University of Texas Medical Branch and its students; and other information of interest to members of the association and other parents and family members of UTMB students and family members.
Events Committee: reviews and reports upon projects proposed for the Council, including all those for which funding by the Council are requested. Events supported by the Council shall focus on the needs of UTMB students.
