More than 500 parents and friends attended the 2016 Proud Parent Welcome Weekend Event which showcased the UTMB experience for parents of incoming students.

 

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! Approximately 130 School of Nursing students marked the beginning of their professional journey when they received their white coats on Monday, August 29.

Homecoming 2016 will be held in October to celebrate UTMB's 125th anniversary.  Please mark your calendars for Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22 to return to Galveston to renew acquaintances and make new memories.

This year, the Office of Alumni Relations will be honoring the classes of 1966, and celebrating the graduates of 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006.

The San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center will serve as our homecoming headquarters and a block of rooms are being reserved at a special rate for our guests.

Online registration is now open for graduates of the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences.

 

 

UTMB celebrates 125 years and raises $3.7 million at black-tie gala

 

As part of the celebration of UTMB’s 125th anniversary, the university held the Milestones Gala: 125 years – The Best is Yet to Come on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston.

More than 750 guests attended the gala which included an interview with UT System Chancellor, William H. McRaven conducted by award-winning news correspondent Stone Phillips.

The event generated $3.7 million in gifts and created 19 faculty and scholarship endowments.

Four philanthropic organizations -- The Sealy & Smith Foundation, The Moody Foundation, the Harris and Eliza Kempner Fund and the George P. and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Foundation -- were recognized that night for their collective contributions to UTMB.
