McRaven to be Honored at UTMB Milestones Gala on May 21

 

As part of the celebration of UTMB’s 125th anniversary, the university presents the Milestones Gala: 125 years – The Best is Yet to Come on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston.

Guests are invited to enjoy cocktails, pageantry, dinner and an interview with UT System Chancellor, William H. McRaven. From the opening reception to the grand finale, this black tie evening will be a memorable event.

Proceeds from the Milestones Gala will be used for scholarship endowments, faculty endowments and the recruitment and retention of the best and brightest faculty.

Jennie Sealy Hospital Now Serving Patients




On Saturday, April 9, more than 180 patients were transported from the John Sealy Hospital to the new Jennie Sealy Hospital.  All adult medical/surgical and adult intensive care unit patients were moved successfully and seamlessly with the help of a large cadre of volunteers.

The team began the move before sunrise and all patients were settled in their rooms and reunited with visitors by 1:45 PM that afternoon.

The following units will remain at the John Sealy Hospital:  Mother & Baby Unit and Labory and Delivery Services, Blocker Burn Unit, Pediatric Unit, the Blood Donor Unit and Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

Visitors to UTMB hospitals in Galveston will now be directed to the new Hospital Parking Garage on University Boulevard between Texas Avenue and Darrell Royal Avenue.
